Quick overview of the Tour
- Location: Explore the Tassili n’Ajjer (UNESCO-listed, famous for its thousands of prehistoric rock paintings) and the mythical site of Sefar, known as the world’s largest open-air prehistoric city. ( 2h30 flight from Algiers)
- Accommodation: Nights in Saharan bivouacs (tent, mattress, blankets included) + one night in traditional huts in Ihrir.
- Transport: 4×4 vehicles with experienced Tuareg driver-guides.
- Activities: Ascent of the Tadrart, hike in Tamrit and its panoramas, exploration of the Essendilène canyon, visit to the White and Black Sefar sites, discovery of the rock paintings of Djabaren, cultural immersion in Tuareg villages and walks through oases.
- Meals: Full board with Saharan cuisine + unlimited tea and water.
- Visa on arrival: Procedure available through an approved local travel agency.
Day 1 – October 15: Departure to Djanet
Flight Algiers → Djanet at 10:00 p.m. (arrival at 00:25).
Welcome by our team and transfer by 4×4 to the foot of the plateau.
First night in a bivouac, under the sparkling Saharan sky.
Day 2 – October 16: Tamrit and Its Panoramas
Morning ascent of the Akba Tafilalet on foot.
Spectacular view over the dunes of the Erg Admer.
Discovery of the Tamrit canyon and the rock paintings of Tin Zoumaïtec.
Walk among the millennial cypress trees of the Tamrit valley.
Overnight in a bivouac surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery.
Day 3 – October 17: On the Way to Sefar
Passage by the cliffs of In Etouhami and the paintings of Tin Aboteka.
Descent along the In Itinen wadi and exploration of the labyrinth of Tin Teferiest.
Arrival in Sefar, a major site of prehistoric rock art. Overnight in a bivouac.
Day 4 – October 18: The White Sefar
Visit of the White Sefar, a true prehistoric troglodyte city.
Exploration of its alleys and walls adorned with rock paintings.
A day of immersion in a timeless atmosphere.
Day 5 – October 19: The Black Sefar
Exploration of the Black Sefar, its remains and thousands of paintings.
Return to the bivouac for another night under the stars.
Day 6 – October 20: Towards Djabaren
Crossing of the stony plateau towards the In Aouarhed canyon.
Stop at lesser-known rock art sites.
Overnight bivouac at the prestigious site of Djabaren.
Day 7 – October 21: Djabaren and Return to Djanet
In-depth visit of Djabaren, an archaeological jewel of the Sahara.
Descent from the plateau via the Akba Aroum.
Afternoon visit of the town of Djanet.
Check-in at the hotel for the last night (dinner included).
Day 8 – October 22: Return
Transfer to the airport.
Return flight scheduled at 01:35 a.m.

Formalities – Visa on Arrival
