Tamanrasset Circuit - 6 Days

Day 1

• Welcome of visitors at Aguenar Tamanrasset Airport.
• Transfer to Hotel Tahat.

Day 2

• Departure to Assekrem Plateau, approximately 75 km north of Tamanrasset via the East track.
• Stops at various sites:
  • Gaseous spring of Tahabort (Chapuis Spring).
  • Water point of Imlaoulaouène with rock engravings.
  • Volcanic mountain Akar-Akar (Antinea’s Castle) with rock engravings.
  • Water point Afilal with rich flora and fauna.
  • Volcanic peaks of Tizouyadj with relict vegetation.
• Hiking ascent to Assekrem Pass for panoramic views.
• Bivouac at the foot of Assekrem.

Day 3

• Admiration of sunrise over Tizouyadj peaks.
• Visit to the hermitage of Father de Foucauld (built in 1910).
• Departure towards Hirafok passing through the volcanic crater of Imadouzène and other natural sites.
• Bivouac in the dry riverbed of Hirafok.

Day 4

• Departure towards Tazrouk, the highest village in Algeria.
• Bivouac in the riverbed of Tazrouk.

Day 5

• Return to Tamanrasset via the village of Tahifet.
• Bivouac at In Tounnine.

Day 6

• Visit to the city of Tamanrasset and purchase of souvenirs.
• Departure to Aguenar Tamanrasset Airport.

The price varies based on group size: the larger the group, the lower the cost per person, and vice versa.

Price includes:

• Transport in 4×4 vehicle for the entire circuit.
• All meals included: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea (herbal teas and teas), dinner with traditional dishes, mineral water, fruits, blankets, pillows, and mattresses for outdoor comfort.
• Tuareg guide and assistance throughout the circuit.

Price does not include:

• International or domestic flight tickets.
• Hotel accommodation for late arrivals, at 35 euros per night (only if arrival is too late to directly reach the Sahara).
• Tent rental for 2000 DA for the entire circuit.

• Tips

• A visa is mandatory for foreign nationals, but with this visa on arrival procedure for Djanet and Tamanrasset, you no longer need to visit consulates or embassies.
• The visa on arrival procedure is managed by your travel agency. Upon booking, the agency handles all necessary formalities for you.

Processing by the Agency:

The agency submits the completed form and a photocopy of your passport to the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts in Algeria. You will then receive a confirmation in the form of a “let pass”, typically within 15 days.

During Check-in:

Present your let pass to board. This document is essential for check-in and entry into the country.

Upon Arrival in Algeria:

You will need to present the following documents:

• • Your pass.
  • Pay the visa fee: €96 or 14,000 Algerian dinars. Payment can be made in cash, with the option of euros (prices subject to change).
  • A bank statement or proof of income (such as a pay slip, tax assessment, or retirement certificate).
  • Your round-trip airline ticket.
  • Your repatriation insurance certificate.

• Easy: Choose a comfortable circuit with travel by 4×4, allowing easy access to picturesque sites without intense physical effort. Note that for certain specific historical sites, hiking may be necessary as they are not accessible by 4×4.
• Moderate: Opt for a mix of transportation modes, combining 4×4 drives, shorter hikes, and possibly camel rides for a diverse experience that requires a bit more endurance.
• Difficult: Commit to a challenging circuit by opting for hiking through varied terrain. Ideal for adventure and trekking enthusiasts seeking total immersion in local nature and culture.
