Tamanrasset Circuit - 10 Days

1st Day:

• Welcome of visitors at Tamanrasset’s Aguenar Airport.
• Setting up camp on the outskirts of Tamanrasset.

2nd Day:

• Departure towards the Assekrem plateau, with stops to discover:
  • Tahabort Geyser Spring.
  • Imlaoulaouène water point with rock carvings.
  • Volcanic mountain Akar-Akar and its carvings.
  • Afilal water point with its rich flora and fauna.
  • Tizouyadj volcanic peaks.
• Hiking ascent to the Assekrem Pass.
• Visit to the hermitage of Father de Foucauld.
• Bivouac at the foot of Saouinane peak overlooking Atakor.

3rd Day:

• Sunrise at Tizouyadj peaks.
• Departure towards Hirafok via various natural sites like Imadouzène crater and Issakkarassene gueltas.
• Bivouac in Hirafok riverbed.

4th Day:

• Departure towards Mertoutek village in the heart of Tefedest.
• Bivouac at Mertoutek riverbed.

5th Day:

• Camp setup.
• Visit to the first site of bovine-era rock paintings and carvings.
• Return to camp for overnight stay.

6th Day:

• Morning visit to the second site of rock paintings.
• Return to camp for overnight stay.

7th Day:

• Departure towards the southern foothills of Tefedest and visit pre-Islamic tumuli.
• Bivouac.

8th Day:

• Exploration of Dehine and Ouhet riverbeds.
• Visit to In-Amguel village and traditional agricultural garden.
• Overnight stay at In-Amguel riverbed.

9th Day:

• Return to Tamanrasset with stops in Tit and Outoul villages, visiting rock carvings.
• Visit to Tamanrasset city and souvenir shopping.
• Overnight stay at a campsite.

10th Day:

• Departure towards Aguenar Airport of Tamanrasset for the return flight.

The price varies based on group size: the larger the group, the lower the cost per person, and vice versa.

Price includes:

• Transport in 4×4 vehicles throughout the circuit.
• All meals included: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea (herbal teas and teas), dinner with traditional dishes, mineral water, fruits, blankets, cushions, and mattresses for outdoor comfort.

• A visa is mandatory for foreign nationals, but with this visa on arrival procedure for Djanet and Tamanrasset, you no longer need to visit consulates or embassies.
• The visa on arrival procedure is managed by your travel agency. Upon booking, the agency handles all necessary formalities for you.

Processing by the Agency:

The agency submits the completed form and a photocopy of your passport to the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts in Algeria. You will then receive a confirmation in the form of a “let pass”, typically within 15 days.

During Check-in:

Present your let pass to board. This document is essential for check-in and entry into the country.

Upon Arrival in Algeria:

You will need to present the following documents:

• • Your pass.
  • Pay the visa fee: €96 or 14,000 Algerian dinars. Payment can be made in cash, with the option of euros (prices subject to change).
  • A bank statement or proof of income (such as a pay slip, tax assessment, or retirement certificate).
  • Your round-trip airline ticket.
  • Your repatriation insurance certificate.

Affixing the visa:

Level of the circuit: Easy, Moderate, Difficult – According to your preference

• Easy: Choose a comfortable circuit with 4×4 travel, allowing easy access to picturesque sites without intense physical effort. However, note that for some specific historical sites, hiking may be necessary as they are not accessible by 4×4.
• Moderate: Opt for a mix of travel modes, combining 4×4 trips, shorter hikes, and possibly camel rides for a diverse experience that requires a bit more endurance.
• Difficult: Embark on a challenging circuit with hiking through varied terrain. Ideal for adventure enthusiasts and trekkers seeking total immersion in local nature and culture.
